Shayne Toporowski

Head Coach

A native of Paddockwood, Saskatchewan, Toporowski joins the Quad City Storm after beginning his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at College of the Holy Cross in 2013 and serving as the Head Coach of the Worcester State University Men's Hockey program from for six seasons. Toporowski led Worcester State to 15-wins in the 2018-2019 season, their winningest in school history. 

Prior to his coaching career, Toporowski played 18 seasons of professional hockey in the NHL, AHL, multiple top-level European leagues and ended his career in the CHL with the Quad City Mallards during the 2012-2013 season. During his single season in the QC, Toporowski was a player-assistant coach and assistant captain, tallying 11 goals, 21 assists and 87 penalty minutes through 61 games. 

Shayne Toporowski currently resides in Worcester, MA with his wife, Stephanie, and children, Dmitri and Olena. He is also the uncle of former Quad City Storm assistant coach Jake Toporowski and the brother of Quad City Mallard great Kerry Toprowski.

MATHIAS ÅHMAN

Assistant Coach

Åhman is no stranger to the Quad Cities, where the former defenseman appeared in 82 games over two seasons for the franchise in the ‘19-’20 and ‘22-’23 seasons scoring eight goals and adding 26 assists

The Härnösand, Sweden native is looking forward to returning to Vibrant Arena in a new role. “I’m honored to return to the team, this time in a coaching role rather than as a player. Each year brings new expectations, and I’m excited to embrace them as I step into this position.” said Ahman. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success in a new way. I really look forward to helping our players reach their full potential and achieving great things together.”

Josh Eaves

Equipment Manager

Josh was born in Joliet, IL but grew up in Hernando, Mississippi, where he fell in love with the game of hockey.  He began playing hockey at the age of nine through high school.  Josh began working as a stick boy for the Mississippi RiverKings in 2012.  In February 2018, he became the equipment manager for the Birmingham Bulls, finishing out the season with them. He is entering his second season as equipment manager for the Quad City Storm.

Chloe Hinojosa

Athletic Trainer

Chloe is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where she received her undergraduate degree in exercise science with a focus in strength and conditioning and masters degree in athletic training. Last season Chloe completed her professional internship with the Storm organization.

HUNTER OSBORN

Assistant Equipment Manager

A native of the Quad Cities, Huntter was born in Rock Island, IL and has been a part of the Vibrant Arena At The MARK makeup for his entire life. Huntter spent time as Head Locker Room Assistant with the Mallards for 5 seasons before joining the Storm as Assistant Equipment Manager.  Huntter is entering his fifth season with the Storm.
