MOLINE, IL. – The SPHL has named Quad City Storm goaltender Zane Steeves the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week for March 9-March 15. This is the first time that Steeves has received SPHL Player of the Week honors this season, and third time in his career.
Zane Steeves opened the weekend in dominant fashion at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, stopping 26 of 27 shots faced to lead the Storm to an overtime win on Friday night. Steeves followed up his Friday night dominance the following night, recording 23 saves during regulation and overtime and saving 5 of 6 shots in the shootout to secure his 18th win of the season.
In his first season with the Storm, the Red Deer, Alberta native is currently 18-15-3, ranking third in the SPHL in both wins (18) and saves (1,062), and seventh in both GAA (2.46) and SV% (.918).
