MOLINE, IL. – The Quad City Storm dominated the third period Saturday in a comeback win over the peoria rivermen in front of a franchise record 8,181 fans. The win propelled the Storm into eigth in the SPHL standings and back into a playoff position.
Saturday's Union Night night crowd of 8,181 smashed the previous single-game Storm attendance record of 7,042 that was set on Union Night during the 2023-2024 season.
The record-setting crowd was noticed by Storm players, who credit their third period success largely to the fans. "There was a lot of energy from the crowd and we were just really working off of that," said Quad City Storm forward Mike Moran. "You get a really big crowd like this, it's really going to work in our favor."
