Playoff Hockey returns to the Quad Cities

Mar 28, 2022

MOLINE, Ill. (March 28, 2022) -- Playoff hockey will be returning to the Quad Cities for the first time in five years. The Quad City Storm finished the 2021-22 season with over 60 points to lock up a top-six finish in the SPHL standings and their first-ever berth in the President's Cup Playoffs.

The Storm officially clinched their postseason berth back on March 1 with a 7-1 victory over the Vermilion County Bobcats.

The President's Cup Playoffs consists of three rounds (quarters, semis, finals) played in a best-of-three format. For the time being, the Storm are settled into the five seed and are slated to play the fourth-seeded Fayetteville Marksmen in the opening round.

The opening round of the playoffs is scheduled to begin during April 12-14. The first home playoff game for the Storm is yet to be determined, but tickets will go on sale April 1. The first home playoff game will also feature dollar beers on the concourse of the TaxSlayer Center. Contact Andrew McKay at (309) 277-1318 or email him at andrew@quadcitystorm.com to reserve your seats for the return of postseason hockey to the Quad Cities.
