MOLINE, IL. – The SPHL named Quad City Storm netminder tandem Brent Moran and Kevin Resop the Warrior Hockey Co-Players of the Week for February 19-25 after stopping a combined 115 of 120 shots and leading the Storm to a 3-0 weekend in Fayetteville.
Brent Moran was between the pipes Friday and Saturday night, going 2-0-0 on the weekend while posting a .936 save percentage and a 2.50 goal allowed average. Friday Moran saved 34 of 35 shots, leading the Storm to a 4-0 win. Saturday he stopped 39 of 43 shots, lifting the Storm to a 5-4 win. Moran currently sits in 5th in the SPHL in wins (14) and 4th in save percentage (.914)
Kevin Resop finished the weekend sweep with a 42-save shutout in Sunday’s matchup; his 7th professional shutout and 6th with the Storm. The win marked Kevin Resop’s franchise record 28th as a member of the Quad City Storm.
This weekend the Storm is back on the road to face off against the Evansville Thunderbolts Friday and Saturday night. The team returns to home ice Friday March 8th and Saturday March 9th to take on the Macon Mayhem.
Friday March 8th is Star War Night presented by Big 106.5 and Saturday March 9 is First Responders Night presented by Blackhawk Electric. At Saturday’s game First Responders receive a free game ticket when they present their ID badge at the Vibrant Arena box office. Tickets can be redeemed now through gameday.
