Mattson Receives All-SPHL Second Team Honors

Apr 20, 2026

MOLINE, IL. – The SPHL announced today that Quad City Storm forward Leif Mattson has been named to the ‘25-’26 All-SPHL Second Team following a vote by league coaches, staff, and broadcasters. The selection marks Mattson’s third consecutive All-SPHL honor, having earned First Team recognition in each of the previous two seasons (‘23-’24, ‘24-’25).

Mattson delivered a historic campaign during the ‘25-’26 season, becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in both career assists and points while recording 60 points (21G, 39A) on the year. His 39 assists set a new single-season franchise record, passing the previous mark of 37 that he set just last year. Mattson’s 60 points were the second most in a single-season in Storm history, trailing only his own 68-point performance from the ‘24-’25 season.

Mattson ranked in the top-10 in the SPHL in goals (10th), assists (3rd) and points (2nd). Additionally, his six power play goals were tied for 6th-most in the league.
