MOLINE, IL. – The SPHL named Quad City Storm goaltender Brent Moran the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week for March 3-March 9. This is Moran's second time winning the award this season
Brent Moran opened the weekend in dominant fashion on Friday night at Vibrant Arena, saving all 44 shots he faced to secure his third shutout of the season and boosting the Storm back into 8th into an SPHL playoff position. Moran followed his Friday night lights out performance with a 25-save effort the following night to gain his 17th win of the season.
In just his second season with the Storm, the Orleans, Ontario native once continues to insert his name into the franchise record book. During Saturday's contest, Moran surpassed Peter Di Salvo's franchise saves record of 2,082 - the new record sits at 2,100 and counting.
On the season, Brent Moran is currently 17-12-3 and currently ranks 1st in shootout wins (three-tied [3]), 2nd in shutouts (three-tied [3]), 4th in SV% (.919) and 5th in wins (17).
