Protected roster

Brkin started a team-high 17 games between the pipes for the Storm, in addition to starting all six postseason games. Brkin posted a 2.12 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage to go with his 11-4-1-1 regular-season record.

Duperreault was a late season addition to the Storm roster who made a big difference in the postseason. Duperreault scored three goals in the Storm’s six postseason games, including two in the closeout game against Fayetteville to help lead the Storm to their first playoff series win.

Fries was one of the Storm’s top offensive threats, second only to Shane Bennett in goals (20) and points (39). Fries rattled off four goals and two assists in a three-game stretch in December.

Golka played a handful of games with the Storm to start the year before getting the call-up to the ECHL’s Iowa Heartlanders. Golka spent over half of the season in the ECHL before rejoining the Storm for their record-setting season. Golka tallied 16 points in 23 games for the Storm.

Louis-Jean was the youngest player on last season’s roster at just 21 years old. In 13 games as a Storm defenseman, he scored a pair of goals and dished out seven assists. Louis-Jean also played a three-game stint with ECHL’s Iowa Heartlanders in late February.

Moran was a forward that did a little bit of everything for the Storm. Moran was called up to the ECHL midway through the season, spending 17 games with the Iowa Heartlanders before rejoining the Storm to close out the year. Moran scored 29 points in 43 games for Quad City.

Nelson was another late addition to the roster, joining the team with Duperreault. A gifted goal-scorer, Nelson found the back of the net six times in his 15 games in a Storm sweater.

Resop played 16 games in net for the Storm last season, tallying a 9-5-2-2 record. Resop clipped a 2.60 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage, as well as notching a 25-save shutout against Vermilion County on Mar. 21, 2022.

Shinkaruk was a veteran skater who played as both a forward and a defenseman. Despite spending nearly half of the 2021-22 season in the ECHL, Shinkaruk managed to tally 34 points in just 37 games with the Storm.

Stang was a rookie forward who carried the brunt of the offense early in the season. Stang kept the Storm’s 10-game winning streak alive with a late goal to beat rival Peoria. A nagging shoulder required season-ending surgery, but Stang still tallied 13 goals and 14 assists in 37 games.

Stoia played 54 games in a Storm sweater last season, picking up a pair of goals and dishing out double-digit assists (10) as a defensemen.

Theriot was another midseason acquisition, making his impact on the defensive side of the puck. Sturdy and precise, Theriot didn’t spend a single minute in the penalty box in his 20 games on the ice for the Storm.

Virgili made an instant impact on the offense, scoring five goals and three assists in his first 11 games with the Storm. A lower-body injury sidelined Virgili for the latter half of the season, closing out the year with nine goals and eight assists in 28 games.
